How do you keep pigs enclosed to seal a farm pond?
I had a small pond dug out and it’s not holding water more than two days. It’s about 6 feet deep, 8 feet wide and 20 feet long. My neighbors are full of suggestions on putting some pigs in it to seal it and I don’t want them to get out. (like my neighbors do) I also need to know what and How Much to feed them and do I need one or two to seal this little pond.
Pigs sealing ponds is not a specific science. You would need to install a fence around the pond and keep them in there for a month or two, until their hooves packed the soil, but this assumes the soil is correct for this application and it might not be. You would be better off to dig the pond out farther and install a clay liner from clay soil. You can install a natural clay pond lining.
